Workplace Violence Prevention

#4Workplace Violence w-Grey 460x245

The time to think about how to react is not in the heat of the moment.   Your life could depend on how you react within the first fifteen to thirty seconds of an event!

Regardless of the business you are in, or it’s size, there is a significant chance that you will be exposed to some form of Workplace Violence during your career.

Our  1-day workshop will help you prepare for what to do if there is a Workplace Violence event.  Whether it is unexpected surprise, or the result of a problem that has grown out of proportion, either way your life is just as valuable to protect.

Bill Morgan is a nationally recognized speaker and trainer for Workplace Violence.  He has taught the topic through Live Audio-Conferences and seminars throughout the U.S., and will bring you the most practical information to address your potential exposures.

You will be a part of class interaction and discussion in this topic that is always enlightening, and you will gain potentially life-saving insights and responses as a result of attending. You will discuss options and receive answers with clear directives to all of your questions, and more, in our training.  You cannot know for certain if you will be in a life-threatening situation, but you can know for certain that you are as prepared as possible.  That’s what we want to do for you in this class.

What You Will Learn in our Interactive Workshop:

  • What would you and other employees do if a “shooter” were in the building, right now?
  • What are the specific critical steps that you must take in advance to be prepared to react in a way that saves lives?
  • What steps should you take for prevention?
  • What are the signs of an impending violent act?
  • What actions should and can you take to stop the escalation?
  • How would you detect or report a violent act from a non-employee in time to minimize it?
  • What makes you liable for an incident?
  • Is Workplace Violence training a mandatory requirement for your business?
  • What is the range of magnitudes of incidents that could occur and how would you respond to each?
  • In the steps you take in reaction and response to an incident, what is the critical sequence, and who should do each step?
  • Do your employees have a company code word that they know well enough to use immediately in a WPV threatening emergency?  Would it be obvious to a perpetrator that it is a code word?

About our 1 day Workplace Violence Program:

The Workplace Violence workshop covers our Prevention, Awareness, Detection, and Response approach.  In addition, the workshop incorporates select information compiled from numerous authoritative sources.   We address how to make your work environment safe through facilities and equipment, personnel, policies, and procedures.  You will be taught multiple approaches to protecting you and your fellow employees because:

  • WPV is the number 2 cause of death on the job for workers, second only to Transportation deaths.
  • Homicides have been one the four most frequent work-related fatal injuries since 1980, and are the number one, or two, cause of death in the workplace for women every year.
  • While workplace murders have grabbed media attention, they are only part of the problem.
  • One in six violent crimes in the United States – an estimated 8% of rapes, 7% of robberies and 16% of assaults – occurs at work.
  • One of every four American workers will be attacked, threatened, or harassed at work in their lifetime.
  • Only 10% of WPV incidents come from within the workforce.  Approximately 90% come from an outside individual.

No business is immune from Workplace Violence.  Everyone must be prepared.  Let us show you how. Come to our workshop ! Be Aware. Be Prepared. Be Safe.

What You Will Take Away from the Class:

 • You will be given a Workbook at the beginning of the class with complete course content and reference materials.  It is yours to keep and you should find it to be a valuable reference for answers to questions you may have in the future.

• At the end of the class, you will receive a Certificate from Morgan Safety.  It will be suitable for framing if you choose, and will have the course title and the completion date.
